Food Loss & Waste Management through the prism of Circular Economy
Guidance in the standards your auditors use
Most food companies do not realise how much they are wasting because they never measure it properly. Food waste in the bin = money in the bin, and most businesses have no idea what that number actually is.
With FSSC 22000 now requiring reporting on FLW management, ISO 20001:2026 now published, and ESG reporting tightening across Europe, the cost of doing nothing is rising fast. European regulatory changes have global reach, and everything is connected. I help you find where, when and why food is lost, quantify what it costs, and build systems to measure and monitor it long-term, satisfying auditors and regulators while recovering real money.
Start small with a one-day, fixed-fee Quick Scan, or go all the way to a full FLW strategy. Every service is built around international standards: FSSC 22000 v7 FLW requirements, ISO 20001:2026, the FLW Protocol and SDG 12.3.
The simplest way to start. A one-day, fixed-fee look at where food is lost in your operation, what it roughly costs, and what to do first.
A first, practical picture of your food loss and waste: the main hotspots, a rough idea of what they cost, and a few clear next steps. It is informed by the FSSC 22000 v7 FLW requirements and ISO 20001:2026, so you also get a light first sense of where you stand. It is not a full gap assessment; that comes in the 180° programme. On-site or online.
For food businesses ready to understand where they stand. We start with a conversation, explore your situation, and can move into an on-site visit, team training, or a focused session, whatever makes most sense for you.
You will know exactly where food is lost and what it costs you. Your team will be trained. You will have a policy, SOPs, and a daily monitoring system in place. You will have a clear action plan with next steps, and a baseline to measure future progress against. Can also be done online.
For food manufacturers and retailers certified under FSSC 22000, or preparing for the new ISO 20001:2026 FLW management system standard. I build your complete compliance system, so you walk into audit day with confidence and recover real operational savings.
You will be audit-ready. Your FLW documentation, measurement framework, CAPA log, evidence file, and management review will all be in place and fully aligned with the FSSC 22000 v7 FLW requirements. ISO 20001:2026, Food loss and waste management system: Requirements for the prevention and minimization of food loss and waste across the food supply chain, is the first dedicated FLW management system standard. I help clients get ready for it so they are ahead of the curve. Read more: FSSC 22000 v7 FLW requirements · ISO 20001:2026 explained.
For organisations serious about long-term impact, investor-ready ESG reporting, and measurable supply chain transformation. An end-to-end advisory partnership embedded across your organisation.
Your organisation will have an end-to-end FLW strategy, measurable KPI frameworks, investor-grade ESG data, and a by-product valorisation plan that turns waste streams into revenue. This is for organisations ready to lead on FLW, not just comply with it.

I always had a deep connection to nature. Studying sustainability at university opened this door in an even more profound way, bringing the world of nature into focus through the lens of other sciences. I dived deeper into food waste when I realised that one of the most pressing environmental problems of our time is also one of the most solvable, with the right knowledge, mindset and systems.
Food connects everyone. There is no culture where food isn't the principal connector. That is what makes this work so meaningful.
